CEREC

Technological advancements in dentistry today are shaking clinical dentistry to its very roots. Crowns historically have been fabricated by an off-site laboratory after the dentist takes an impression of teeth and their supporting tissues. Now, leading dentists like Drs. Griffin and Reed are having great success using electronic impressions rather than physical ones. These electronic substitutes allow dentistry to be done more efficiently with fewer office visits and less strain on you, the patient. Take a step back and look at it this way. Drs. Griffin and Reed have considered the benefits of these new restorative techniques and invested in extensive training to make this state-of-the-art procedure available to you. They have now mastered the technology and are even certified CEREC trainers. CEREC currently provides full technology for inlays, onlays, full coverage crowns and veneers and will very soon support full crown and bridge cases as well.

Digital X-Rays

Digital radiographs or x-rays are a technological advancement that results in less radiation exposure and an almost instantaneous picture. Unlike traditional, film-based x-rays, digital radiographs show more detail and can be archived in a computerized system for future reference, comparison and treatment explanation. Thanks to digital x-rays and the trained eyes of Drs. Griffin and Reed, you will appreciate a more comfortable visit with less waiting and faster treatment.

DIAGNOdent®

The DIAGNOdent® is an exciting new dental diagnostic technology that allows Drs. Griffin and Reed to find cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, even when they are just beginning and would have been missed by previous detection methods. The DIAGNOdent® is a small, portable laser unit that detects the cavity and alerts us with an audible signal and a numerical readout, providing information about the cavity’s size. The value is that we can stop cavities in their infancy, whereas in the past they would have to be significantly bigger before we could find and treat them. Just like other areas of medicine and dentistry, early detection and treatment is of immeasurable value in preserving your health.

Intra Oral Camera

See what your dentist sees when he studies your mouth. Thanks to pictures from an intra oral camera, you will have a greater understanding of your oral health and of the treatments that the doctor is prescribing for you. Seeing is believing and, in many cases, seeing is understanding. Patients report feeling more knowledgeable about the treatment being provided and less anxious or nervous about prioritizing dental visits overall.

Digital Photography

Digital photography gives Drs. Griffin and Reed images of your mouth, your teeth and your smile to record your oral health.  These images are shared with you as you and your dentist discuss your condition and any recommended treatment  Digital images are an excellent communication tool your doctor uses with the laboratory to ensure excellent cosmetic results.
